Love is known for his versatility as a power forward and center, with his ability to score both inside the paint and from beyond the three-point line. Love played college basketball at UCLA and was highly regarded as one of the top collegiate players in the nation. After one season with the Bruins, he declared for the 2008 NBA Draft and was selected fifth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. However, he was traded on draft night to the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he began his NBA career.
